Forensicare complies with all standards established to cover research. The Forensicare Research Governance Framework outlines the principles of good governance that apply to all research undertaken at Forensicare and allied organisations. The Framework is informed by, and developed in accordance with the:

• Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (2007)
• National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2007)

All research involving Forensicare patients/clients, staff or records must be approved by a Human Research Ethics Committee. This should be the HREC of the organisation which would bear liability, and is generally the academic institution to which the principal researcher is attached.
